About the Golden Age of Illustration Museum

A love of illustration and art history and the desire to create an on-line experience that would inspire and stimulate the imagination led to the creation of The Golden Age of Illustration Museum. The "Golden Age" of Illustration lasted roughly from 1880 to 1920. This period saw the field of illustration's flowering as a full blown art form. Gathered together on this website is the artwork of many of the luminaries from this era like Howard Pyle, N. C. Wyeth, and Arthur Rackham. You can also learn about the artists themselves and the advances in publishing that gave rise to the art of illustration as we know it.
